Learn the beautiful art of copperplate calligraphy with Pooja. It’s a beginner level class where we will have in-depth study of copperplate letterforms. The class is divided in 2 parts. Part 1 is all about studying lowercase letters & Part 2 is all about uppercase letters. By the end, you will build a strong foundation & confidence to further practice this elegant script on your own. 

Copperplate Script Part 1 (Lowercase Letters)

It’s a beginner's class where we will study copperplate lowercase alphabets (a to z) in depth.

5 Sessions ( 14,16,19,21 & 23 April )

9 AM to 11 AM

Material

You will get a complete calligraphy kit including 70 Pages Copperplate Workbook, Oblique Holder, 2 Nikko G Nibs, Walnut Ink Crystals, Glass Jar & Dropper. The material is yours to keep.

If you opt for DIGITAL PDF, take a print out on calligraphy friendly paper before the class begins.

Your Home. (We will meet over Zoom / Google Meet. You need to have internet connection, camera (mobile will work) & also mobile stand.

Copperplate Script Part 2 (Uppercase Letters)

It’s an intermediate level class where we will study copperplate uppercase alphabets (A to Z) in depth.

Uppercase

What you’ll learn :

  • Warm Up Exercises

  • Uppercase Fundamental Forms

  • Exploring calligraphy through Patterns

  • In depth Uppercase Study (A to Z)

  • Writing Words & Sentences

  • Numbers & Symbols

  • Letter Variations

  • Basic Flourishing

Duration :

4 to 5 Sessions (once you enroll, we will mutually decide the dates)

Time :

Approx 2 hours each session (It's not a continuous class, we will take a gap of 2/3 days in between each session so that you get time for practice & to learn better)

Material :

FAQ :

Is this class for absolute beginner?

Yes, this course is designed for a complete beginner. It covers everything right from your posture, sitting arrangement, tools preparations, warm up exercises to basic flourishing. You can join even if you have never done calligraphy before.

I want to learn lowercase & uppercase together. Is that possible ?

Copperplate is a structured script & there is so much to learn just in lowercase itself. If you learn lowercase & uppercase together in 1 class, it will be a loads of information for you. Hence we suggest to do lowercase first, get confident about it & then join us for the uppercase class. We aim at building a strong foundation step by step.

Do I need to know Copperplate?

Absolutely not. I will introduce you to this elegant script thoroughly.
 

Can I learn calligraphy even if my handwriting is bad? 

Yes, absolutely. Handwriting & calligraphy are totally different things. You don’t need perfect handwriting to learn calligraphy. I know many amazing calligraphers whose handwriting is not so good.

What materials do I need?

All the materials are included in the workshop. If you already have calligraphy tools, you can opt for ‘workbook only’ & we will send you just the workbook.
